Organizational Identity

The following organizational identity was outlined by the PPGCA Coordination in collaboration with the Self-Assessment and External Evaluation Committee, following CAPES guidelines.


MISSION
To qualify professionals of excellence in Animal Science, with critical and innovative capabilities, committed to scientific and technological development and the demands of local, regional, national, and international society, with an emphasis on animal production and One Health in the Cerrado Biome.


OBJECTIVES
The PPGCA aims to qualify individuals as masters and doctors from a transversal perspective, encompassing the dimensions of animal science and societal demands. This purpose will be achieved through academic, scientific, humanistic, and leadership training, as follows:

a) Promote the qualification of future professors, researchers, and professionals in the field of animal science, fostering their potential as academic leaders, aiming to enhance the quality of higher education, research, and technical services in both public and private sectors;
b) Develop interdisciplinary teaching and research of excellence in animal science within the Midwest region, with national and international impact, promoting the generation and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge, with an emphasis on the Cerrado Biome;
c) Enable and foster the integration of graduate education with different educational levels, encompassing basic to higher education;
d) Develop and apply scientific knowledge in different urban and natural ecosystems to promote innovation and technological development within the One Health framework, integrating academia, policies, and society;
e) Equip individuals to identify and/or anticipate problems with social and economic impacts, proposing solutions with the aim of producing applied science and promoting social inclusion through teaching, research, and extension activities, fostering national and international actions;
f) Develop personal skills beyond intellectual production, enhancing interpersonal, organizational, cognitive, and communication competencies, encouraging critical and independent thinking in line with current market demands.

VISION
To establish itself as a public graduate program of excellence and a reference in Animal Science, nationally within the Cerrado Biome context and internationally, through the training of highly qualified human resources under the pillars of social, economic, and environmental development, guided by the generation and transfer of basic, applied, and translational scientific knowledge.
